Founded by Sir James Dyson, 70, this manufacturer of bagless vacuum cleaners, bladeless fans and, more recently, hairdryers is in the middle of a £2.5bn investment drive in robotics, battery technology and artificial intelligence. Last year, under chief executive Max Conze, 47, growth in China, Indonesia and the Philippines helped it increase sales 43% to £2.5bn. In March the firm revealed plans for a 517- acre research and development centre near its Wiltshire headquarters.
